I recently attended a One Loudoun blogger happy hour at Matchbox (hosted by Andrea Khoury and the One Loudoun marketing team). It was my first time hearing about Loudoun’s “new downtown,” and I really like it. Living in Fairfax County, I rarely head west unless we’re visiting our Ashburn friends but I’ll be making more visits now that I know this 100-acre space exists. There’s a fountain for the kids to play in, an array of restaurants, parks and trails with a butterfly garden (behind the Alamo), shops, and a line-up of entertainment.
At Matchbox, the generous hosts provided a delicious spread of appetizers; including my favorites- sliders and Prosciutto and Black Mission Fig pizza!
Once we happily stuffed our faces, the One Loudoun marketing team filled us in on the family-friendly events coming up. All I kept thinking about was how handy this will be when my kids get out of school in a couple of weeks! Playdates and lunches here will be perfect.
Here’s the list of events for the rest of the year. Their first one, Downtown Fest, is this Saturday, May 7th.
Have a wonderful Mother’s Day!!
